Mindfulness and self-compassion: cutting across professions

Florian Ruths is a consultant psychiatrist in adult mental health at the Maudsley hospital in London.

Florian has been leading the Maudsley Mindfulness Service at the Maudsley Hospital in London for the last 10 years, teaching mindfulness to colleagues and treating patients with mindfulness-based interventions.

He became a qualified cognitive therapist and was BABCP accredited. Since 2003, he has developed the mindfulness-based cognitive therapy program at the Maudsley Hospital and has been a full-time consultant at the hospital since 2005.

Florian will be speaking about his experience of teaching mindfulness to junior doctors and City-real estate executives. He will explore common humanity, co-dependency (especially during Covid) and unrelenting standards we set ourselves. With this is the need for much more self-compassion and compassion for others which in turn leads to greater well-being and increased effectiveness at work.

The hour long session will be facilitated by Andrew McNeill (MI Workplace Policy Lead) and will be in the format of an interview with Florian, then conversation and Q&A from the audience.

This webinar is open to MWC Members ONLY.

We very much look forward to seeing you.
